NEWSLETTER
The DDN NEWSLETTER is distributed online by the DDN Network
Information Center under DISA contract as a means of communicating
official policy, procedures and other information of concern to
management personnel at DDN facilities. Back issues may be read
through the TACNEWS server ("@n" command at the TAC) or may be
obtained by FTP (or Kermit) from the NIC.DDN.MIL host [192.112.36.5]
using login="anonymous" and password="guest". The pathname
for bulletins is ddn-news/ddn-news-nnnn.txt (where "nnnn" is the
bulletin number).

REQUEST ALL NODE SITE COORDINATORS AND HOST ADMINISTRATORS DISSEMINATE
THIS INFORMATION TO ALL THEIR DDN TAC USERS.
1. DDN Management Bulletin 9304 announced that effective 11 Dec 93, the
current DDN 1-800 TAC Dial-up system will be replaced by the new FTS
2000 Integrated Customer Network. Technical problems encountered by the
vendor during the installation phase of the new 1-800 FTS Service forced
DISA to POSTPONE activation of this system until further notice.
2. PLEASE ADVISE ALL TAC USERS AT THE EARLIEST POSSIBLE DATE that the
LOG-IN PROCEDURES currently in effect will remain valid until
additional guidance is provided. Under the current 1-800 system, USERS
will begin their LOG-IN procedure with a <CONTROL> <Q> wake-up
character to access the DDN.
3. If customers require additional assistance, the DDN Customer Help
Desk is available to answer your questions. The DDN Customer Help Desk
